Our first memories are the very first moment we are struck by consciousness, the moment we recognize ourselves and begin defining who we are, who we were and who we always wanted to be.

For our Ras Al Khaimah Art 2025 Festival we invite you to explore the depths and breadth of “Memory”. To reach deep inside your mind, where echoes of both the best and worst have intertwined with time. Memory is the thread that binds us to our past, illuminating the path we have taken, all the while guiding us towards our future. Through the theme of "Memory," we ask you to immerse yourself in the intangible landscapes of collective or individual consciousness.

 From the pulsating rhythms of ancestral rituals to nostalgic times gone by to the forgotten secrets of childhood, the 2025 Festival pays homage to the beauty and complexity of memory, inviting artists to embark on a journey of introspection and discovery, a space for catharsis, healing, and connection. 

 Just as Monet’s Water Lilies captured one of his most cherished landscapes and Picasso’s Guernica embodied the Spanish civil war, we invite you to share with us your most vivid memories or the memories of your people, your ancestors, your country or something else entirely. Explore the depths of your innermost thoughts and emotions and tell us, what does memory mean to you?
