Speaker Series
The Speaker Series brings together artists, scholars, curators, and cultural thinkers for a programme of panel discussions that explore the many ways civilizations are shaped, remembered, and imagined. Set within the historic setting of Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village, these conversations connect contemporary cultural practice with deeper questions of heritage, identity, and collective memory. Each session focuses on a different theme—from the evolving role of museums and cultural institutions, to the movement of people and objects across borders, to the documentation of modern architectural histories. Through dialogue between experts from fields including anthropology, architecture, curation, and cultural research, the series highlights how knowledge, material culture, and lived experience contribute to our understanding of the past and the possibilities of the future. By bringing diverse perspectives into conversation, the Speaker Series creates a space for thoughtful exchange, encouraging audiences to engage with the ideas and stories that continue to shape cultural landscapes in the UAE and beyond.
